so i was turning right on red light.. for 3 years i've been slowing down and proceding and today i got a ticket.. i know i have to do a "complete stop" on red.. my question is.. how much could be the fines in $.. it said on ticket that i was on 5mph when i did it.. but it didnt say any amount..
he said i could either go to traffic school or do it online.. and it wont go to my driving record?.. this is my first ever ticket in my entire life

In California you can request "Traffic School" by either calling the courthouse at the number on the back of your citation, or by personally appearing in court, whichever your court requires. San Jose is a pretty big city so I think you can do it over the phone. The court will send / give you a list of approved schools you can use to fulfill this requirement. There is a small fee to attend the school. If you actually go to a class, DON'T be late, if you are you won't be allowed to attend, and you forfeit the fee. If you go "on line" choose your answers very carefully . Once you have completed the course and received your certificate, send / file it with the court , they may or may not access you a fine to cover court costs, and the case will be dismissed, Keeps your CLEAN record CLEAN.

i'm not from ca but in my state and city it would be $75 and you can get court supervision for 3 months and wouldn't show up on your driving record
