Extremely few women bleed during ovulation. If they do, it is usually just a very tiny amount.
It comes from the side wall of the ovary bursting open to release the ripened egg. As the egg ripens/matures, fluid builds up around it. When we ovulate, it's almost as if a big pimple is popping---and whoosh! the egg pops out with the gunky fluid.
This is what causes a tiny amount of spotting with ovulation in some women.

there are phases to this. actually menstrul and ovulation are the same thing. (follicular phase) the hypothalamus begins the fillicular phase by secreting honadotropin-releasing hormone, which stimulates the anterior pituitary to release follicli-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone. these hormones maure an graafiam follicle that contains the ovum. the wvauian follicle secretes wstrigen, which stimulates the growth of the endomitrium. it takes about 9 days for the graafian follicle to ripen and bulge out from the ovarian wall. this wall bicomes thinner as the follicle enlarges until it bursts, allowing the ovum to be liberated into the abdominal cavity. this expulsion of the egg ends the follicular phase. the fallopian fimbriae begin their wave-like motion to fan the ovum into the fallopian tube. the rupture spot on the ovary, now called the corpus luteum. bigins to secrete progesterone. onulationcaused ans incrase in body temp. , and some womenexperience cramping and tenderness in the lower abdominal area at this time as a result of the graafian follicle rupture. there you go.... all from a medical book. hope this is what you needed!

it's the lining of the uterus that matures and have to be expelled out, that's why you bleed when you menstruate, i think that's what you meant.
