I'm assuming you've got a light colored wood table and if so there is an easy sneaky way to fix your table. Put the table outside in the sunlight and the U.V. rays will cause the red dye in the Sharpie ink to break down and become transparent! It's not quick (in my case it took a week of dragging it out every morning and back in at dusk) but works without causing huge amounts of damage to the finish like using any chemicals will do. Btw, this doesn't work with Marks-A-Lot markers as I learned the hard way (thanks to a granddaughter)

this is a disaster? are you serious? I would say don't sweat the small stuff. there's lots worse that could happen. live with it. think of it as a work of art, a conversation starter.
in a few years it wil seem funny. it's only a table. get a table.cloth if it bugs you so much. remember to breathe..in.....out....in....out.. there. that's better.

sharpies are usually taken off panel doors for electrical with a product called "Goof off" but it has had some bad reactions with some surfaces so be sure to test it in a small area first.

Nail polish remover, which contains acetone, will probably get it off. But it also takes off the varnish on the furniture, and you'll have to revarnish it.

you need some acetone. You can pick it up at most hardware stores.
try a dab somewhere inconspicuous first to make sure you don't wipe off the wood finish.

I've never had any luck removing permanent marker from furniture. You might have to refinish it (sand, stain, seal).
