She's been on a diet for four months until now... Not eating ANY junk food, soda, bread, and rice... Do you think that's the case? She's lacking some foods she should be eating like (brown) rice and whole grain/wheat bread? And NO she's not pregnant! Why do you think she hasn't had her period in so long? Please give me a real answer. Thank you. :)

She started when she was almost 11 years old.
She's been irregular for a few years now.
Sometimes she has her period a lot, sometimes she hardly has it.

At that early stage, it's normal for the menstruation to be irregular. And the flow to vary. It might be heavy on some and light on other months. Sometimes, many months are skipped in between menstrual cycles. This is quite normal. Now, especially, if she's dieting. It can create havoc to the body.due to chemical imbalance and hormonal levels. You shouldn't worry.though. I heard some women skipped their menstruation for almost a year. Advise her to eat foods in the 4 food groups. Drink plenty of water. Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables. By avoiding junk food, she's on the right track. Tell her she needs to exercise too. If she wants to lose weight-diet and exercise go hand in hand.

Some girls are just irregular. The diet may have something to do with it. With her not having a period in 4 months, you should probably go ahead and make a gyno appointment for her. She may need to be put on birth control to regulate her periods. Is this a problem that she's had before or just since she's started the diet? That would be a big indicator of why she is missing periods. If it's not the diet, she could have cysts on her ovaries. Or it may just be plain teenage hormones that are messed up.
EDIT>> Ok your additional info gives me a little more to go on. If she has always been irregular, then definitely take her to the doctor. They can rule out whether or not she has cysts, a thyroid problem, etc. The most likely treatment would be to put her on birth control. I was irregular until I was put on bc and then everything started going like it should. I also had cysts on my ovaries. If she has pretty painful cramps, that could be an indicator that she has cysts. So good luck and definitely make that appointment. Don't let this go on for too long.

When girls start to have their periods, it can be irregular for about a year. If she if extreamly thin then that may have an effect on her period, but not just a diet alone. May be she has a thyroid issue that needs to be checked out. That can cause weight gain and irregular periods.

Aside from the one answer you're disregarding (ahem)....
Birth control comes to mind, which might be why you "know" she's not PG.
Some women do stop having periods if they are exceptionally thin, or are engaging in lots of physical exercise. Gymnasts, for instance, are prone to this situation.
However...
When this happens, a woman is prone to other medical issues, including broken bones.
Obviously, everyone here will tell you to take her to the doctor to get her checked out.

first off it kinda depends on how old she was when she started if she just recently started then its normal to stop for a while then start up again....if shes very active this could also stop any women from getting their period....if i were in your shoes i would take my daughter to see an ob/gyn its time for her to get checked out if she hasn't already your supposed to take your daughter to the ob/gyn once she starts menstruating ....hope all is well and good luck....hope you get the answers your looking for..

she's 14 and I'm guessing hasn't had her period that long? some girls aren't regular right away when they first get their periods. it could have something to do with the diet.

It can happen due to being anemic. I did that when I was young and never knew why. For a whole year. It did not cause me any trouble though.
