The Puritans were being persecuted in English, and they saw that the English church was corrupt and they didn't like it that the Enlgish law was, "You're either with us, or you're a hethen who deserves to hang."

So they came here where they were free to do what they wanted because they were so far away from England.

To live without persecution for their beliefs. To have the freedom to worship as they chose. To have a choice. They came to the New World at a time when Protestants were being burned alive for not being Catholic.

Oh, my! Did you not have any historic previous training? First, "Puritans" is a popularity their detractors mentioned as them. What did they desire to end in the hot international? Freedom to worship God their way as a exchange of how the King of britain informed them to worship. They have been imprisoned in England, tortured and placed to dying for his or her ideals.

The Puritans left England because, in their opinion, it had become a cesspool of depravity. They came to America to found a fundamentalist nation, much like what the Muslims want for the entire world.

One, to escape the religious intolerance of England. Two, to establish their own Puritan communities and government (presumably so that they could be intolerant to everyone else, but I didn't tell you that).
