Tell her that a relationship between a man and a woman is like a bird, and in each and every way, the control, the effort, the input as to dealing with financnes, etc....are like the wings, and if there isn't equality in the motion from BOTH sides, the bird cannot stay afloat. I thought this was neat. This is actually in Baha'ai wedding vows.(My ex-fiance was Persian) Mostly, people with the need to control issues do not feel that they have control in their own lives, so they feel the need to control others. If her control issues do not stop, just tell her how unhappy with it you are, explain why and how you feel about it, and tell her that you will adjust only to common-sense, fair and rational conversation as to how things should be, or you won't discuss anyhting at all with her, as this is unfair to you.

Either its because she is given control because there is no balance in the relationship or she is too demanding and the guy is too timited to speak up and say, hey! I don't like the way you treat me or they way you speak to me.

.....because you're the one who keeps trying, and she's the one who says YES or NO. And if she says no, you might still keep trying but-----guess what?-----she still says YES or NO. And even then, starving, beat-up, dying, with your last breath, you might still, still keep trying, and she might turn and as your sight and hearing fade into the distance, she will still say, YES or NO.
