What did/do you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a probation officer....grew out of that one really quick!

I bet! I've wanted to be a mortician since I was like 10. Yes, really. I have 3 kids, I'm 30, so I'm taking Funeral Services Education through correspondence. It's very interesting.

Actually - I've always wanted to be an author, so I write a lot too.

When I was growing up, I wanted to be a chef. I really enjoyed cooking, and even took high school courses, but then later decided to take a different direction, and go more towards the health professions. So I decided that I wanted to be a physical therapist. I then volunteered at a hospital in their pt unit, and saw that it was very boring, so I decided that I wanted to become a pediatrician. I stuck with that for many years. I took AP courses in high school, and I became a biology major in undergrad, and I even applied and am now attending medical school. NOW here is the interesting part. I don't want to be a doctor anymore. I hate medical school, and I don't want to give my life up, so I have now decided that I want to be a teacher. I am so much happier with this decision, but it has taken me many years of playing out the wrong decision to see what I really want. It is so difficult, and I think that we put too much pressure on people to decide too quickly. (I am quitting medical school at the end of the year, and going back to undergrad to get my teacher certification, big pay cut, but incredible promotion in happiness.)
