I think it was all a part of his contract. He was supposed to act like he really wanted the roadrunner and would go to all sorts of measures to get him. In reality, the coyote is a vegetarian and likes to watch his figure. Birds are too greasy.

I think the real reason that wylie E Coyote refused to buy any food was 2 fold .. # 1 he probably hijacked a credit card number off the internet and could only buy mail order or internet purchases and #2 . Hungry Man Dinners don't make a Roast RoadRunner dinner
