We all have all kinds of habit. Some are "good habits" like brushing your teeth, others are "bad habits" like driving without a seatbelt. A habit should only be called an "addiction" when the person who does the behavior is unhappy about the behavior, doesn't want to do it, but can't stop. I drink coffee every day, but I don't have a problem with that, so I don't call it an addiction. It's just a habit. Now, if you have decided that you have a habit of looking at internet porn that disrupts your life, makes you unhappy, and you can't stop it, then BINGO, you have an addiction. There are 12 step programs for sex addicts and porn is one of the big issues there. Google "sex addicts anonymous" and try to find out where you can attend a local meeting. They will at least provide you with a supportive forum for confronting your issue. Good luck.

How to avoid porn addiction on the Internet

1. Consider installing porn content filtering software( Strongly Recommend NetDog ,you can get it from www.netdogsoft.com ) on your computer. it will help to protect you from stumbling into pornography by accident, That's important.

2. Do not try to guess what the address of a Web page is. Many pornographic sites have similar addresses of respectable sites. For example www . whitehouse . com is a porn site. The real address is www. whitehouse . gov

3. Never click on Web site addresses that you receive in an unsolicited email.

4. Do not open attachments that come in email that are unsolicited.

5. Use filtered search engines or reputable directories to find the information you need.

6. Do not search for terms like girls. Think before you enter a search term.

Stick with reputable sites.
If something looks questionable, don't let curiosity get the best of you. Delete it or close the window.

Internet porn addiction is one of the fastest growing addictions in this country (US). It is so bad, people are losing jobs, getting divorced, and ruining their lives.

If someone spends lots of time viewing porn, talking about porn or spends too much time alone with porn DVD's or frequents strip clubs or hires prostitutes, they have a big problem.

It is a sexual addiction that requires intervention; counseling, a 12 step program (just like any addiction) and lots of monitoring.
