Ok,I'm wondering if you need a certain type of agp slot to run a graphics card with GDDR3 memory, and also im thinking of getting the Radeon X1600 pro wich his regular 513mb of memory and then the Sapphire radeon X1600 xt wich has 256mb of GDDR3, and im wondering wich one would be faster, and wich on is actually better for running games with the best frame rate possible

Hi!
I recently purchased a Sapphire 1600xt for my new computer.
You need PCI-Express to use it unless they made one for agp.
Do not get the 1600pro.
Using it myself for about less than 1 week, I like it because it is a mainstream card and can handle most of the games.
I wish I purchased a higher model, but this one is good for its price.
I play Counter-Strike 1.6 with constant 100fps.
It begins dropping fps in 2-3 smokes.
I get about 30-80fps in Counter-Strike Source with max settings.
It is very playable.
I suggest you purchase a 1900xt, unless you play pretty low end games like me.
BTW, I'm running with widescreen 1440x900, so I do not know if that effects my frames much.
And what games are you planning to play?

The graphics port is either AGP or PCI-Express.

If you have AGP, get that type.

Anyways, the 512MB version is probably DDR2 which is somewhat slower. For an easy answer: right now they both will work fine with all games. the 512MB might be better for the long run since it has more memory. The Sapphire though with 256MB is the faster RAM speed but that will only help slightly.

It's your choice from there.

Well since both of these cards are AGP 8x, you need at least and AGP 4x slot. Now as for comparison, the XT has a faster core clock and almost twice the memory bandwidth, hence the XT is the better choice even though it has less memory.

I can guarentee that you will need a PCI-E (Express) slot. GDDR3 will also need more power to run since it's a high end graphics card. I would say that you'll need at least a 450 watt power supply. One mroe thing, make sure your computer is running at at least 2.0 GHZ P4 with at least 512 RAM (1 gig reccomended).
