Lucifer was an angel, God's favourite angel!
He fell from grace and now spends his time punishing sinners in hell and trying to lure more souls to him apparently!
He is also known as satan as well as other names.

Technically, a star is not fire, though they are both hot. A star such as the sun produces it's heat/energy through a fusion processes. It smashes hydrogen atoms together and the particles form back together as helium.

Fire as we know it, for example, when you light wood on fire, produces heat through an oxidation processes.

In the days of Mohammed few people would have probably made a distintion between regular old fire and another type of light and heat producing reaction, with the exception of lightning.

In short, this is really a theology/philosophical issue and if you are concerned about it you should discuss it with someone at a local university.

My friend, there are other forums for discussing religious themes.

This is the science section, and this has no place here.

For instance, stars are not on fire, nor are any planets. Fire is a chemical reaction that oxidises carbon. Stars energy is from nuclear fusion.

Sorry, but the people who wrote your texts, and Hebrew Bible is just the same in this context as the Koran, had very little knowledge of the universe, such that many of the statements are nonsense in today's understanding.

Actually buddy those things are in Heaven... Satan lives in Hell.... so find hell first then find a fire-y element there and he would be made out of that fire.

In reply to ag_iitkgp HIndu's do not have the type of Devil that Muslim or Christians have. This religion has deep humanistic rationalism philosophy in it. Though its not clearly comparable, but easy comparison think of Greek/Roman Gods. By the way Chronos is a aggressive character but not the Devil.

in the christian faith we believe in the devil also called Satan or Lucifer and here is the story of Lucifer form the bible.

Lucifer was the most beautiful angel and gods favourite but Lucifer became jealous of god and his power so he and a third of the angels rebelled so god created hell as a prison for the angels and Lucifer and locked away the angels in eternal prisons he let some out and they became the demons but some stayed there and in the very depths of hell they stayed for they commit ed the most dreadful acts of the angels while he never imprisoned Lucifer but allows him to walk the earth so that's the story of Satan in the christian faith

I'm not an atheist, I believe that there exists a higher plane to which we all travel perpetually between life and death, but I cannot accept the stories of any religious book, for that is what I see them as - a collection of stories.

First, please learn how to spell. Then learn English grammar. Then learn how to put your question in the correct category.

Thanks for the 2 points, though.

And by the way, I'm am atheist. God (and Satan) do not exist. They are made up.

Yeah, I've heard Satan likes to blow up innocent people and then have the cheek to call it a 'holy war'.

Fire is one of the four "elements" of the ancients, along with Water, Earth and Air. Obviously Fire is the most dangerous and unpredictable.
