Sudoku is a placement game, where you are given a grid (normally 9X9) and given some of the placements of nine objects. The goal is to fill in the grid so that no row, no column, and no 3X3 box contains a duplicate of any object.
There are some variations, but most of them add a restriction, or enlarge the grid.

Nine boxes are arranged in a three-by-three form. Nine of those are arranged in like manner, giving a 9x9 box of squares, grouped into nine 3x3 groups of nine "cells". Some cells are already filled. You must fill them with the numbers 1-9, or something else, so that no one number is used more than once. No math is required, just logic.
