I'm a 10th grader, in honors english, and i need a good book that my teacher would accept. I enjoy fantasy books, e.g. harry potter, but i doubt she'll accept it.
btw, i am a guy, so i doubt any romance novels will interest me.

Try the Life of Pi by Yann Patel. Also try out the classics like Animal Farm or 1984, both by George Orwell, or The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger. Lots of people have said that every high school guy should read Catcher.

Still not your taste? How about something by Chuck Palahniuk? He wrote Fight Club as a book before it became a movie. Other good books by him include Choke and Survivor. His books could be called the antithesis of romance novels.

If Chuck Palahniuk is too risque for your teacher, try something by Nick Hornby like About a Boy, or How to be Good.

Chuck Palahniuk is probably the one that comes closest to fantasy. But I vote that you try something new. There are only so many good fantasy books out there.

Finally, be sure to check out the synopsis for any of these books on Amazon before you buy it. Let me know what you choose.

Harry Potter 6 has not been turned into a movie.

Lord of The Flies, Animal Farm,Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Finn are good , and accepted at the High School level, even though I think they might of made movies about them all.
Most good books are made into movies

This teacher sounds like a real fu#@ing bi#ch.
It is almost impossible to fing a GOOD book key word good that hasn't been turned into a movie.
Even every Stephen King book turned into a movie.
Damn she's a Bi#ch.

And you said she wants to spank you, for no reason?
In high school at that?
Sounds like that bi#tch needs some medication.
As if it will do any good report her to the school board.

Maybe you should suggest that she read
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey

And buy the way they even turned that into a movie.
(Even though he was high on LSD when he wrote it)

A great fantasy/adventure book that is, in my opinion, on the 10th grade level would include any of the three Lord of the Rings books (starting with The Fellowship of the Ring), by J.R. Tolkien. You just have to make sure you read it more in depth than just for entertainment. In my 10th grade Honors English course we read A Tale of Two Cities, and it wasn't bad, so you could consider that as well. 1984 is another good one. Hope you find a great book.

The Count of Monte Cristo is a good book. It's about a man who is wrongfully imprissoned and how he escapes, becomes rich and gets his revenge. (I know it doesn't sound like a fantasy book, but I promise you, it would be a good read.)

Isaac Asimov's "Foundation" series would probably be okay with an honors teacher. It's also a really good book to have read if you ever want to go into business.

Hope it helps.

This is a trilogy, or three books in a series....lol Deborah Chester, she wrote "The Sword," "The Ring" and "The Chalice". Also anything by Terry Brooks or Patricia McKillip, or Sherry S. Tepper. My husband is a huge fantasy reader with a decent library, and these are some of his favorites.

Into the Wild by John Krakauer. You have to put the pieces together, you can't skip around, he uses some big words, and he is really good. Look it up online so you can see what it is about. It is based on a true story, but never a movie, at least I don't think.
