Here's a trick before you start with an agency, try to hire a model from them. Surprisingly a lot of the so called agency's don't hire out models. they really nothing but model schools ( John Cassablanca's) and your not going to get any work from them. Also beware of the in house photographer, if he were that good he wouldn't be working there(been there, done that, moved on)
Without knowing your area I can't point you to a good one.

Most modeling agencies you REALLY have to watch out for,

My sister was with like three different agencies when she was growomg up. They al wnated like all this money up front and said they were going to get all these jobs, They never would, and then the agency would go out of business

most modeling agencies these days just want to turn a quick buck off riffraff buy making you pay dues that never lead anywhere. your best bet is to buy as ticket to LA or NY and find an independant agency.
