You sounds like you are dilating, whenever you get contractions, there is a good chance they are accomplishing something. But, bear in mind that you can actually dialate without going into labor. I was dilated 4cm, effaced with a completely soft cervix and I never actually went into labor until they broke my water and induced me 6 times. :-) Hopefully, that won't happen to you, but unless the contractions get 4-5 minutes apart, don't get too excited. :-)

It's impossible to say how much longer it will be. Some women have 1/2 hour of warning before they have the baby, some women are walking around like you for weeks before they have the baby. The good thing is that it's clear that your body is doing the work that needs to be done to bring the baby to you! These are all good signs!
The discharge, if it's sort of mucousy, is exactly that, cervical mucus. It means the plug that provides a barrier between the baby and the outside world is starting to break apart. Yay! If it's watery, your water may have broken. If the baby is well engaged in your cervix (which is what it sounds like) you're only going to continue to get a light trickle, if that. Remember that your body continues to replenish any water this is lost, so your baby isn't in any danger from this. Just make sure to stay hydrated! You're also not in danger of infection as long as you don't put anything up there. Including gloved hands of medical professionals. So if you do go the hospital, request that they hold off on vaginal exams. Once they do one, and if they determine that your water has indeed broken, you're on the clock, and must start labor within 24 hours or else they'll start the interventions that may eventually lead to something that won't be so good for you and your baby, like an episiotomy or a c-section. Do some quick reading about induction of labor (look up Henci Goer) if you can!
Good luck!

You need to call your doctor now. The wetness can be a leak in your amniotic sac and if so, there is an infection risk that increases the longer it takes until birth.
"Sore" could be the way you are perceiving labor and dilation and not being able to walk well is a clear signal something is going on whether labor, an infection or something else. The "bowling ball" feeling can actually signal imminent birth, so don't delay.
Call the doctor now. If you cannot reach the doctor, go to the hospital where you are to give birth and get checked. It's better to do that and be sent home than to take a risk with you and your baby. And take your bag, because I suspect they will keep you.
Drop me an e-mail if you would to let me know how you are. Have a nice baby.

Sounds like maybe your water has broken... I would head to the hospital they have a simple test with a strip of paper that reacts to amneotic fluid so they can tell if it's your water broken...
Sounds to me like baby is on the way so you should be on the way to the hospital now..
Good luck...
Ok I will edit having just read flamidwyf... answer I would never have gone to the hospital with my last child... My labor lasted a total of 47 minutes from first twinge to delivery contractions lasted 35-40 seconds and were spaced at 7-9 minutes apart up until the last 10 minutes when I had 5 in that 10 minutes...
If I had taken that advise I would have had my daughter at home rather than in the hospital where I headed when I thought my water broke...
It's best to be sure take a trip to the hospital they can run a few tests an monitor you a while to see if you are in labor and put your mind at ease... It is your decision whether or not to proceed with a c-section don;t allow fear of an unnecessary c-section prevent you from going in early if you feel you need to....

Sounds like normal pre-labor stuff to me. You are probably losing your mucus plug which would cause you to fill wet. Even though you lose it your body keeps making that mucus until you deliver. It is not unusual to feel that much pressure the bay is engaged and this is a wonderful sign of pending labor. You should contact your OB if you have lots of worries but if you are seeing them in a day it will probably be fine. I wouldn't have sex any more just in case you have a slow ammniotic leak, take your temp every few hours until your appiontment if you are worried, If it goes up more than a degree or 2 visit the dr. or hospital for a quick check. You won't run out of fluid your body continuosly makes more and your body recylces your supply every 48 hours or so anyhow. Stay home as long as you can and good luck you will have a baby soon and be a mother.

Nothing will help you go into labor.... I tried it! Sex and walking...... no way will it do anything but pleasure you and make you healthier. When your body is ready it will be ready. The heaviness and pressure is from the baby's head on your cervix. That's what will cause your cervix to fully thin out and then dilate. I was 50% thinned out and almost 1 cm dilated for 3 weeks up to my due date then I didn't have my little girl until a week after my due date. I had to be induced. No telling how much longer everyone is different!

Congratulations you should be holding bub soon,
i had this feeling a few days before my labour started with my son. The contractions your having already could be slowing trying to dilate you, My experience was similar and once my labour had started I was only in labour for 3 hours and had dilated 6cm, I though wow not long now then, but was told I was dilating over the days just slowly and it wasn't proper labour as the contractions weren't real contractions. It then took me another 6 hours to dilate the last 4cm. I'm sorry if this wasn't much help but labour is different for everyone so its very unpredictable, Good luck and hope its not a long wait for you.

If you think that your water may have broken, then you definitely need to head to the hospital soon, just in case of infection. Otherwise, if the contractions aren't bad, then don't head to the hospital just yet. It's way too early. Trust me, when it's time, you'll know! If you have an appt. tomorrow, and you don't think that your water has broken, then just relax and take it easy. You're going to need all of your strength for delivery! Make sure your doctor does a pelvic tomorrow and checks to make sure you're not dilating. I was actually 4 cms. dilated when I went in for an appt., and was sent upstairs to delivery! I had been having bad contractions the night before that ended abruptly and never picked up again. Your body can definitely surprise you. Best of luck to you and your baby! It's a very exciting time, so enjoy it!

I think u r pretty close, but no cigar dear! Contractions just arent regular enough so dont rush it and quit the sex all u will do is get more sore seriously you are close no need to screw to a point of discomfort. If u are past 37 weeks and have a normal preg with no problems I suggest boiling cinnamon stick in two cups water for 15 minutes. Add sugar to taste and drink UP. If its time u will go into labor real soon after.

Sounds like typical late pregnancy discomfort. It also sounds like the baby has "dropped" that is why you are feeling more pressure.
Real labor is:
1. Contractions every 5 minutes
2. Lasting for 60 seconds
3. For at least one hour
If you go to the hospital any sooner than this, you are going too early. My best advise is to be patient. Inpatient moms + inpatient OB's = c/section. These are major abdominal surgery that is not fun to recover from when trying to fall in love with your new baby. I would also avoid an induction or epidural. Both of these increase your chances of a c/section by more than 50%.
Good luck!!! Be patient, you'll be holding that beautiful baby in your arms soon enough! ;o)
