It's not an odd question at all. You'll have spots or large blotches of blood in your underwear. It might be that you'll only "spot" for the first few periods. In other words, not true bleeding but small blotches of blood. Also, you'll probably have cramps around your lower abdomen. Put a pad on to begin with. Putting in a tampon when you first begin to have your menses can be very painful. Where is your Mom or someone in your life that you could ask, my Dear One? If you're embarrassed, don't be. All women go through this. Good luck.

Not an Odd question at all. I had no one that I could turn to either, I felt embarrassed and ashamed at first.
It varies with the Spotting of blood, usually dark at first, and I had severe Cramping, you can always go to a School Nurse, or a girlfriend, and they will be able to help you choose what Tampon, or Pad will be right...don't forget the ones with "the Wings" they protect better.
Take Care.

i'm no longer particular that this qualifies as an emergency, yet...right here it is going. No, i do no longer shave above my knee, in hardship-free words lower than. notwithstanding, in the course of the summer and skirt season, I used to get my higher leg waxed. Then, even as i began getting too many ingrown hairs, I were given laser hair eliminating, that's remarkable and doubtless too extreme priced for a young person.

My period looks like a brownish red. If this is your first time then it might be brown, reddish brown, dark red or even bright red.

its starts off a brown colour - this is the older blood in your system, and then it turns a red colour. It last for between 4 and 8 days depending on the girl. Also there may be "bits" in it, this is normal, its the expelled womb lining.

Honey, hasn't anyone ever explained this to you? Where the heck are the women in your family?
You get your period when you see blood on your panties. I suggest you discuss this with a woman in your house as soon as possible so you can understand what is going on and get some femine protection for you.
Congratulations sweetie, you're offically a young woman.
