I'm at 19 weeks, so we're probably due around the same time. I'm not in the same situation as you relationship-wise, but I do have a few suggestions for what you might be able to do to pull yourself out of the dumps.
Your hormones are going NUTS right now. You'll find you can just burst into tears for no apparent reason. And that happens when everything is going right in your life.
Unfortunately, when you're depressed, your baby feels that, too. Try doing things that make you laugh. Watch a tape of your favorite comedian. Read the comics. Go on the Internet and surf for jokes. Your baby really needs to hear you laugh. It's healthier. And you're going to have this wonderful little person who will love you more than anything in the world. Isn't that something to be happy about? Go look at cutesy little baby clothes. Shopping is FANTASTIC therapy.
This is something to really look forward to, whether the baby's father is in your life or not. Be the most important person in this kid's world, and start by trying to do things for YOU and your baby, not for anyone else.

If you can afford it. Go to the grocery store and by some beautiful flowers. Maybe order a nice dinner (depending on the time of day) and rent a great movie that you know you like and will not tug at your heart strings. If you don't have any money and you don't have time to go out and do anything, then run a nice bubble bath and light some candles with music in the background. Then after your bath... jump into bed with a good book. These are things I have a hard time ever doing because I never take time do relax and pamper myself. So make yourself a priority and have some fun. In the next few days surround yourself with friends and family - maybe go shopping for baby stuff and start preparing a baby book. Start a journal of how your pregnancy is going to later reflect on and/or put in the baby book for your little one to read when they are older.

lets just look at it this way....your baby is the most wonderful creature that can ever happen to you. :-) i know a lot about single moms and for one thing they're stronger in any other way than an ordinary woman because they've beentempered like steel (get the drift?). i know that raising a child isn't so easy.
also there's a saying "when it rains, it pours" but believe me after the rainclouds has passed a bright new sun-shiny day will come. just remain strong and never give up. Use your baby as your inspiration in life. because all that you'll be doing will be for her now.
if you need someone to talk you can talk to me :-) i know u'm a complete stranger but if i could help i would do anything i can. lol. anyway. just thinking that youre in a slump will make you worse
well what im saying is live your life, everything will set its course.

I found out my best friend, her husband of 10 months and 5 week old baby girl died the day I found out I was pregnant -- so I can sympathize with the depression. I am sorry. It really sucks to be sad and pregnant. The extra hormones really don't help.
I didn't find anything that really took away the depression, I did indulge my desire to sleep a lot. I watched a lot of movies and took up knitting. I tried to focus on my growing belly and impending birth of my baby. It got easier when she started kicking. :-) I read a lot of books about babies and child-rearing. Jenny McCarthy wrote some really great ones, uh, Belly Laughs and Baby Laughs, I think they are called. They helped me focus on my baby more and less on my sadness. You might ask your doctor too, mine gave me the ok for having a glass of red wine with dinner every night which helped some. Also look for high cocoa content chocolate bars (50% and up) because the cocoa creates a endorphin release and makes you feel better.
I hope that helps.

Start drinking! Joking really, deep breathing exercises can help with anxiety, but i always feel better after I get a mani and pedi and just zone out.Stress is bad for your baby so try some calming activities, listening to soothing music and best of all get a gf on the line and just talk these problems out someone with a good ear.

I can't tell you not to worry about yourself or the life of your child- things will be hard and lonely and they'll be difficult to get through. But remember, life is a most precious gift, and the fact that you're going to be having a baby, father or no father, is a wonderful, happy thing! This is your child, your life, and there will always be people, friends, family to support you through these tough times. If there are no people in your life willing to help out, there are tons of organizations that would love to help you and your child.
Don't worry about the future now, just get through one day at a time and look forward to the happy, great times you'll be having soon.

Stay calm for the baby in regards to having a panic attack. Keep your mind busy with reading a hobby etc. Think of it this way alot of intelligent happy women out there are single mothers. Worse can happen you will be alright just tell yourself that everyday. I am sure you have alot of love and support form others in your life you do not need it from a deadbeat. God Bless

Pamper yourself Sweety. Take a long bubble bath with candles and aroma therapy. Afterwards, go visit a friend and do fondue. Get your nails done. Go shopping. Make a long distance call to someone you haven't talked to in a long time. Put on some of your favorite music. Spend some quiet-time praying. Eat your favorite foods. Get lots of rest. Things will seem much better afterwards. Above all - Smile!

I would offer some suggestions if you werent pregnant, but since you are, and stress is bad for the baby, the only advice I have is to talk to a doctor or therapist of some sort. If you get advice on here it could be a few weeks before you realize that it's not working, and thats time spent stressed out that shouldn't have happened.

I have been where you are. You are a very strong and a brave person. You WILL make it. My child is 2 years old. His father has never seen him and we are perfectly fine. I promise you, I thank God everyday that I don't have to deal with that man. I thank God everyday that my son will never meet the man that chose not to know him. It will be hard, there will be time that you are not sure how you will get through. Just remember, you WILL get through. Then, you will have a beautiful baby all to yourself. I know that is selfish, but it is the way that I think about it. I don't have to share him with anyone. I don't have to justify my parenting decisions ot anyone. It is very scary, I know. I am very proud of you. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions. jenmbraw@utm.edu
