I recently found out I was pregnant. I believe i may have had a miscarriage, I started heavy bleeding, and what looked like blood clots came out (it was very discusting) and it wasnt like having a period, but I did get what were like cramps and back pain, I also got a small fever and was throwing up, this all lasted for about 2 or three hours, that happened a couple days ago, everyone I have told says they think I had a miscarriage and thats what I think also, I have an appt to see my OBGYN but I was curious as to what they are going to do to see if I had a miscarriage, and if there is any chance that I didnt miscarry and I may just have some sort of conditon, and if so what condition would it be. This is my first time being pregnant and im very scared and will be heart broken if I miscarried please help! (I probably sound dumb because i dont know any of this but like i said this is my first time)

It sounds like you might have had a misscarriage. I had the same symptoms and indeed it was a miscarriage. I didnt wait for my OBGYN I went straight to the emergency and discovered that the placenta was still attached so I had to get a painful procedure called a D&C. I think you should go get checked out right away.

Unfortunately, it sounds like there's a good chance you have miscarried.
Chances are what the doctor will do is first give you another pregnancy test or else do an ultrasound. If it is determined you have miscarried there's a good chance the doctor will want you to have a D&C (dilation and curettage) under anesthesia, so that the uterus can be scraped to make sure there is nothing left in there that could cause infection or other problems.
If you have a D&C it doesn't take long before you feel back to your old self physically. Mentally is another story, but that has nothing to do with the D&C.
Because you said you just found out I'm assuming the pregnancy was early and not past the first trimester. If, by any chance, you were past the first 12 weeks the doctor would do a D&E (dilation and evacuation) instead of the D&C. In this procedure they don't "scrape" the uterus. They vacuum it. They do this procedure because of the risk of serious bleeding.
There is the chance that the bleeding could have been caused by something else, but because you said it was heavy and you had back pain I can't help but think it wasn't (of course, who am I to guess....). Sometimes there can be some bleeding from irritation/the cervix, but to the best of my knowledge that doesn't tend to be heavy or involved back pain.
Of course I'm just guessing, but because you weren't far along from what you question says and because miscarriages are so common in early pregnancy it would seem very likely that you don't have some other condition. It is said that very often if the embryo/fetus dies it can take a couple of weeks for it to be expelled (miscarried). I don't know if that will make you feel any better if it turns out you did have a miscarriage.
If you were farther along and had heavy bleeding it could mean a number of things not necessarily related to immediate loss of the fetus. Since you're not, though, and since there was the cramps and back pain seem to point to miscarriage. (I'm surprised the doctor hasn't suggested you go to the emergency room, but maybe the fact that the bleeding stopped on its own made it less worrisome for him/her.
Its sad if you miscarried, but don't worry about any of the medical follow-up if you did. It will be the least of your problems as far as addressing any issues go.

I know this can be very stressful try to relax. There are several situations that could be going on. First yes you could have had a miscarriage. Second you could have been pregnant with twins and lost one this happened to my sister. Third some women bleed during pregnancy and are fine. When you visit the doc will do a blood test to see if you hcg levels are below 5 which is a negative result. If they are in the pregnancy range he will probably have an ultrasound done to see what is going on. He will also check to make sure your cervix is closed and that if you did have a miscarriage that evrything has passed. I my self had 3 miscarriages before my daughter two of which were early like yours. My doc says these early hpt are bad because many people who have early m/c would have been saved heart ache if not for these tests. He said the majority of all women have atleast one early m/c. From my experience I would say since you had clots you did indeed m/c. If you want to know for sure take a hpt, in order for the bleeding to occur the hcg must drop below pregnancy levels so you would get a - if you did m/c. Either way you should see your doc. Good Luck and Best Wishes!

It sounds like you had a miscarriage. It all depends on how far along you were in the pregnancy. If you were only 4-5 weeks along then they will pretty much take a blood test to find out what your hcg levels are. If they are below 6 then you should have passed everything. If you were farther along then they might do a blood test to find out what your hcg levels are at. Then they might to an ultrasound or an internal ultrasound to see if their is anything still in your uterus. I just went through the same thing and it was my first pregnancy as well. So I know what you are feeling right now. You will be heart broken for a while. I wish you the best and just stay positive about things even though it might be hard

You need to still go to the doctor. Because they might have to do a d and c to make sure if you did, there might me some remnants that need to be cleaned out if you did. But I had one and it's no trip to Disney land. I just woke up out of my sleep with real bad cramps, but I didn't bleed, and it I was curled up on the bathroom floor. But I had to go to the hospital and the doctor's said it was a self abortion which is a miscarriage and the doctor said that my body wasn't ready for a baby, whatever that means, but it wasn't no walk in the park physically or mentally let me tell you. so i had to finish the job and it was the worst because i was like 16 weeks... It was a straight up nightmare. But go to the doctor honey immediately and see what is up, because it may be on the verge but don't wait until it's too late.

To confirm miscarriage, the physician will do an internal exam to inspect the cervix. If there is tissue emanating from the opening or the cervix is dilated, then a miscarriage occurred (or is imminent). If the situation is not straightforward, the doctor may also do blood tests or an ultrasound to check for ectopic or molar pregnancy. The woman may have to have dilatation and curettage (a D&C) if the doctor suspects that an ectopic pregnancy has already ruptured.
About three-quarters of women successfully maintain a pregnancy to term after one, or even two, miscarriages. Usually miscarriage is due to isolated, random genetic accidents in the egg, sperm, or embryo.

I'm amazed a woman who's pregnant and started having heavy bleeding didn't go immediately to the hospital...
