Comming home from a 100 mile trip and the security light came on. Got back home and parked it thinking nothing of it. A couple of days later I tried starting it, It turns over nicely but does not want to start. Has only 68000 miles on it. Can't figure it out!

try this, turn on the key and set the parking brake and let the vehicle sit for 10 minutes. if this works and the vehicle starts you need what's called a key transponder, it has gone bad. the dealer is the only place to get one. the transponder comes with the lock cylinder. the transponder is locataded in the dash with the lock cylinder. (where you put the key).

if this does not work the vehicle must go to a dealer or somewhere that has a tech 2, that is the gm only scan tool to read the codes and test the problem.

the security system would shut done the electronics. fuel delivery system, spark delivery. or could be a bad fuel pump. but probably has to do with the security system shutting down the electronics.

Hey....I'm impressed someone got this one right....yep, check your passkey....do you have a spare key? It costs 20 bucks to get a new one. You have to go to the dealership with proof of ownership and they can have one in a few days....sorry for your troubles. Good luck.
