They are called Indian Meal Moths. The bird seed has the eggs in it and then they hatch in the seed. The larva migrate and cocoon then hatch. I have parrots and had an outbreak I almost never got rid of. You must clean your cage daily and throw out the seed hulls daily. The only thing that will help is storing your bird seed in your freezer for 4-5 days before serving it to your bird and it will kill the eggs. Continue to store the seed in your freezer. Here's a link of a picture of a meal moth....I bet this is what you have. They are very small less than a 1/2 inch and they are very annoying. If you have a lot of moths, there are moth traps you can buy at Wal-mart or most anywhere and it has male and femal phermones that help attract the moths. They land on it like a fly strip.

First of all check your cupboard. Look in your flour, your cake mixes, the brownie mixes, the oatmeal. Then check your cereal boxes. Moths can also live on clothing, especially wool. You can buy cedar blocks to repel them, or mothballs. Good luck and happy hunting

Possibly a window left open at night. I work in my repair shop at night and open the door for ventilation; in come the moths, drawn to the light.

You should check your clothing because sometimes bugs can be produced from many things like magets and garbage so it may be some fabric or you may have a leak some where in your home they can fit through.
