About 3 months ago I woke up with something that looked like a spider bite, and it bled for about 2 or 3 days and hurt to the touch. I guess you could say it "healed" because it stopped bleeding and it doesnt hurt or itch, but now it just looks like a bruise that wont go away its been there for about 3 months. Now I have heard of something called Inflammatory Breast Cancer, and I have read up on it and Its symptoms and I know they said it might look something like an insect bite or bruise that doesnt go away and when I read it I got a little scared, but I dont have the itching or enlargement of the breast, no inverted nipple, swelling or any other symptoms really. So can cancer still be a possibility? Does it manifest itself in different ways with different women? and Im only 20 years old.I went to urgent care - the doctor said " It doesnt LOOK like cancer, and gave me some ointment to put on it. He said to put it on for 10 days and check back with him. Any help would be appriciated!

Don't have a GYN Dr? I would see them ASAP, if not then I would go to a different Dr. at another urgent care or a regular Dr. There is no such thing as does not look like cancer. How the he** does he know or anyone know that it doesn't look like cancer??? Sorry but, I know women who have died because of this. And there are the Dr.'s that say we'll watch it for 6 mos. an you know what happens then don't you? I don't want to alarm you over this but, you need to know for sure. The GYN may have more experience with women's issues and being 20 doesn't make you immune to cancer or anything else that I know of besides old age. So, I would watch it, is the ointment helping? There is a spider that causes the flesh to die around the bite, brown recluse, I think it's called. So, If I were you I would not stop unless the discoloration went away or I had another opinion about it by a GYN or a good MD who might have a mammogram done. They are expensive but October being breast cancer awareness month you might get a free exam or low cost mammogram. Call your local Health Department and ask if any free or low cost screenings are going on in your area and see what you can find out. Best of luck to youI

First of all take a deep breath. It sounds more like an injury to the skin from whatever bit you. I'm talking from experience because I have been bitten by a spider in the past. The mark it left could still be seen months later. Since you don't have any other symptoms from the sound of it; I think you will be just fine. Use the cream and see if that helps the bruise heal. Life is too short to waste your time worrying:)

After 10 days you should check back with Doc. I have had several red lesions that just would not go away, one turned out to be skin cancer but was easily removed. The others were NOT. So don't worry yourself sick. Just follow your doctors orders. You can always get a second opinion. All the best.

Followup with your doc.

But - the stress you will cause yourself until you know for sure can actually cause other health problems. Go to a breast cancer specialist. If you don't have health insurance, there should be one in your local area that will run tests for a low price (assistant, it's why we all do those donations).

You can get breast cancer at 20. It's just less likely.

I would think the best thing to do would be to go to a hospital with a cancer center. Not to Doc in a Box.

If you cant figure out where to go make some calls first. Maybe a Breast cancer awarness org in your area.

it could be. check out these websites. It's called Inflamatory Breast Cancer (IBC) and most cases have what looks like mosquito bites at the early stages.

Ask your doctor if you want to know for sure. This type of breast cancer does NOT have a lump!

Maybe it's a sebaceous cyst. It "could" be cancer, but probably unlikely. Just follow up with your doctor and good luck.
