Since I live in Maine, lighthouses mean home to me. I grew up twenty minutes from Portland Headlight, the most photographed headlight in the US. It was ordered to be built by George Washington. Lots of history there.

I like lighthouses because they are very interesting structure built to help protect sailors and keep them off rocks. They are also a symbol of God, because he is the Light.

Yes, my mom loves them and whenever we went on a family vacation we had to stop and see a lighthouse. Now when I see one somewhere it reminds me of the fun trips I took when I was younger.

I recently saw a 2007 calendar with lighthouses in it. The pictures in the calendar were very pretty.
