I agree with Julie that it could be narcolepsy or sleep apnea. Even small hospitals generally have a sleep lab where you can be tested. Better see a doc.
However, I had the same condition a few years ago, and in my case it was too much stress and too little sleep. If I could sit down - anywhere! - I'd be asleep in minutes. I'd even start to fall asleep behind the wheel and have to pull over. A career change and plenty of rest cured me. Still, better get checked by your M.D.

I know this probably sounds a little extreme, but if I were you and I had the means, I would get tested for narcolepsy (which is sometimes not as obvious as you'd think it would be), and/or sleep apnea if you have snoring problems. People with these two conditions can be diagnosed by the time it takes them to fall asleep; the average is 4 minutes, at any time of the day/night, whereas for normal adults, the average is around 15 or 20 minutes, taking longer during the day and less time at night.
Other than that I don't really know anything that could help you out. Good luck.

Luke 12:48-But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
Use what little energy you do have to exercise, and that excercise should help you gain mor and more energy and eventually you should find it hard to just fall asleep in the middle of the day, becuase you'll have enough energy to do stuff.

Too many things missing from your description.. like; age, length of time this malady has been present, dietary, physical discomfort, energy level:?? Need a few clues to even hope to come close to some conclusions..There can be numerous reasons for this condition to be present.. must eliminate them one at a time... What has your doctor(s) told you?

It may be narcolepsy. I work with a girl who has this condition and she is on medication for it. The medication makes her real hyper and she doesn't feel tired anymore.

Is your iron low? Sometimes anemia can cause you to have little or no energy at all and can make you tired. either way i would call your doctor.
