Art takes something from experience and remakes it It does this in a way that lets us see the common thing as something new, but still containing some essence of the original thing. This holds true for something as far removed from representing an actual thing as a painting by Jackson Pollock, where the 'thing' becomes a pattern of abstract shapes. In this case the artist is remaking the very idea that a painting must be a re-presentation of some known object(s). Music is an art form that has always used this kind of abstraction.
In other words, art avoids the unnecessary detail of its subject, and in doing so it gains, rather than loses meaning.

I know it's very cliche to say this, but it's the truth.. "beauty/art is in her eye of the beholder"

Art is the work of an 'artist' of any genre. An artist can be a musician, actress, model, photographer, writer, painter, sketcher, singer, so many possible types of art that this question is a never ending discussion that could be debated and talked about indefinitely. Art is something that brings emotion of some sort to the person exposed to it, and comes from the inner feelings of the person behind the art..the artist
