Male hamsters have sack on there rear, girls dont. If there young you will be able to tell in a couple of weeks. You can tell if its a boy by letting it walk youll see bulges. Girls have ****.

If you hold a hamster gently by they scruff of the neck and look at them from the belly side a male hamster will have a V between it's legs a female will have an inverted V.

You won't be sold a female hamster unless you specifically ask for one. The females are kept for breeding purposes by the chain stores and their suppliers.

Male hamsters have this really disconcerting habit of "relieving" themselves. Yes, they are flexible enough to "take care of their problem" by themselves. And every male hamster I have owned has done this.

check between their back legs..If you notice a tiny "outer bellybutton"...It's a male...if you see nada then it's a girl...For longest time I thought my ferret were a female, one night I was clipping "her" claws and noticed a tiny poking "bellybutton" and realized it was actually a male. Funny isn't it?? Luckily I gave the ferret an unisex name which is cocoa!
