If a football is filled with helium, then it will travel farther when it is launched out of a water balloon launcher.

Weird project...
I assume that the football will travel the same distance. Helium is lighter than air, but not light enough to displace the weight of the football.

The question is: "Would a football filled with helium travel farther when launched out of a water balloon launcher?"

An If-Then statement would be:
If I filled a football with helium, then would it travel further if I launched it with a water balloon launcher?

If a foot ball filled with helium is launched out of a water balloon launcher, then it will go farther than it would without the launcher.

If a football is filled with helium, then it would travel farther (than an air filled football) when launched out of a water balloon launcher.

*By the way I saw this on MythBusters, and it dosen't

Good Luck on your project!

this all depends on your hypothesis... do you believe the helium filled football will travel farther than a normal football? if so then your if then statement should read, "If a football is filled with helium and launched out of a water balloon launcher, then it will travel farther than a football launched that is filled with air." see how it works? if then statements are fairly easy once you understand what your looking for. that is your hypothesis, or, educated guess... good luck with your project!

IF a football filled with helium is launched out of a water balloon launcher THEN....

your hypothesis would be: helium-filled footballs travel farther when launched out of a balloon launcher as opposed to thrown by hand.

your prediction (your if, then statement) would be: if this hypothesis is true, then your helium-filled football will travel farther wehn launched out of a balloon launcher.

no it won't. They tried this on Mythbusters and there was no difference between air filled football vs helium filled football.
