Ok, sure, the fans aren't always the most asthetically pleasing to have at an event.

Please remember, though, that most drivers have a CAUSE they donate to, whether it is Victory Juntion Gang Camp, the ASPCA, or Autism, NASCAR is not bad because of a few old time traditions from the FANS.

Why do people always focus on the BAD PR, and not the good?

Media hype. it's all about ratings, they know when they can play the "race card" that it's good for selling more papers, advertising, web hits, etc.

There is nothing new to this "story" it's just a byproduct of it being a big ratings month.

Plus, there is a big anti-nascar bias in the media, and they are feeding off of it, to keep the hate alive.

To me I think it is just something else for some writers too talk about. I was at the race this weekend and saw a few black people and I dont think they were treated any differently than the other fans there. I dont think it is as much big an issue as the media is playing it out too be.

Because some people, mostly media, have to find something to start controversy with. They are not happy if they aren't stirring up some kind of trouble.

People just like to complain. And when there's nothing significant to complain about, they'll complain about something insignificant.
