First time tampon user. or should i say attempter. I'm using the slender cardboard applicator tampax. my flow is regular, almost heavy. ive tried every postion. the tip will go in a little ways and then won't move! and when i try and push it a little it hurts. i know about the angle you should do it. it's like there isn't a hole for it to go through! i don't get it. everything is right and ok and the tampon won't go in! this is VERY frustrating. i'm tired of almost LEAKING through my close, and i'm pretty sure my mom is too lazy to go get me the plastic tampons or more pads. why is this happening?! i'm on the edge right now. and i'm getting very depressed :( someone please help me!

I'm 14. It's almost 10pm and i'm very shy about these things. i don't talk to my mom about it, but it's hard because she usually asks me if i need this kind of stuff but she hasn't lately. i'm stuck on what to do and crying.. why does life have to be so complicated. don't make fun of my mood swings either.

cardboard tampons are the worst tampons you can possibly use! get the plastic easy glide ones. you need to get the tampon in the position so its going towards your lower back. make sure you use the vaginal hole (the one below the clit and before the anus, sounds stupid i know, but believe me, people have done it). i've gone through it to and it is indeed very frustrating. i dont know what to tell you, because it sounds like you do everything right. maybe your vagina isn't deep or something like that. hope this helps! :D

Hi Howdy,
Try sitting on the tiolet ( like going to pee) and gently pushing in the tampon sometimes takes a few tries. LQQk at the box to make sure you are trying to insert it right that helps sometimes. Ask your friends maybe they can suggest trying to insert the tampon a different way. If all else fails ask Mom cause most Moms were girls too. My youngest daughter(23) uses a cup & envorimental (spell checker) safe products, & re-usable liners-she found online. I found plastic was easier but do remember not to leave more than 3 to 4 hours until you get used to them. Good luck. & try & have a good day! :0)

Try the kotex plastic applicator. I had the same problem, the plastic are the best. They just go in without any problem. Just make sure it is up further enough, if not it will be uncomfortable. How old are you? Can you go get them? You need to ask her now before your clothes get damage, it hard getting that stuff out of clothes. I hope you find relief soon. Good luck!

you may want to see a doctor about this. it could possibly be a vaginal septum, which is a big piece of tissue, similar to the hymen which will prevent a tampon from be inserted. i had this same problem when i was your age and thats what i had. mine had to be surgically removed and my gynecologist said it's a fluke thing and it just happens to girls sometimes that this tissue forms, taking up most of the vaginal canal space, but leaves just enough room so the menstrual blood can get out. hope i have helped

Ask her for the plastic ones. Try some lube. Or I guess in your case, you must be young, see if your mom has any hehehehehe
