How do they Figure out how many people watch a Tv show. When they get the number like 50 million people watch Survivior and 48 million watch CSI where do they figure those numbers out from does what ever you watch get reported to the cable network? What if you only watch a show for like 5 minutes will that get counted?

Ever hear of the Nielson ratings? Well that company places devices on random TV's around the country and it passes on the data. With this repersentative sample they can get an estimate of how many people are watching a particular show.

My family is actually a Nielson family but we scan our groceries and other purchases. We earn points to buy prizes with.
