I need a web site where they could tell me about how america dealed with its problem when it first became independent. Like economic, the dividsion of land, ect. Anything and everything could help me. Thanks!!!

Trade was already going on and the weight of gold was the currency. The banks started up by holding your gold and would let you write on a peace of paper how much gold you was paying some one for something like a contract. They would take the paper to the bank and the bank would pay them.

Far as the land lines goes it was just as simple of a thing as the currency was. That is the line where the fighting stoped. Then each region after that would be payed for.

Those two items might be the hardest to find in history because there were no rules on how to do it. Being there was no government at that time. 200 years ago you could just find you some land and build you a home on it and fence off what you could take care of and it was yours.

This will give you a good idea of the problems we faced prior to the ratification of the Constitution in 1787. After the Constitution was ratified there were a whole different set of issues.
