Don't worry about what other people say. Keep going to the 'well baby' appointments and let the doctors decide. That weight sounds fine, but if he was 10lbs at birth, it might concern the doctors. If he was 5lbs at birth, he is doing great.

I am sure that is a good size I had a chunky baby he weighed 15 Ibs at that age he is now three and very healthy, he isn't the scrawny type but he isn't fat he is just right for his height cause he is in the 95% tile for both height and weight. Don't listen to what they say listen to the doctor they know best if your sons weight is a concern he would say something.

All babies are different, and it will depend on how big they were when they are borne as to how much they should weight now, however at this age a little more weight is better than a little less weight, so your baby is doing great!

for 7 weeks, I would suggest 7 lbs is about average.. The baby shoud weigh around 5-7 lbs on birth and as you are aware, they lose weight in the first week or so.

my 9 week old daughter weighs 12lb 6oz and is only 21inches long she is a bit on the short side right now. She has almost doubled her birth weight. And he is normal for his size. Keep in mind once they start crawling/walking they will lose the weight because they will be more active.
Congrats on the new addition!

Wow, to me that is HUGE both of mine were under 7 pounds then. But it all depends on his birth weight if he is growing too fast , but it is definatly within the normal, remember some babies are 11 & 12 pounds at birth ouch!

I wouldn't worry my niece is 27 inches long and 16.5 and she is 16 weeks old. She looks like a heffalump but is as healthy as can be according to her doctor. She is beautiful.
