Magnesium nitrate or sometime people will call sodium nitrate salt peter also. It's a source of nitrogen (a main nutrient) and Mg (an minor nutrient). There are a whole lot of better ways of getting your plants nitrogen and Mg. Go to your nursery and get Peters or Shultz or MiracleGrow. They have the right amounts of these two elements plus all the other nutrients and micronutrients your plants need.
