Here's the scenerio, mother of my daughter is going out of town for a few days (found out from another person, she is trying to keep it from me) The ex has decided that instead of bringing my daughter over to my house for a few days she has set up a live in babysitter for a few days. This man, a very good friend of hers and his brother will be with him as he has to be. The brother was in prison and was released under his brothers care, he has to be with him all the time. The rap sheet is a mile long with theft, trafficking, possession and assault etc etc. We went to our lawyer found out options, we know what needs to be done and what we will be doing but just looking for opinions on what others would do in this situation.

This will be taking place as of tomorrow night and the person whom was told about this, who told us made it clear to the mother it was not a good idea and should be definitely left with me or a responsible adult.

I would 100 percent be thinking of my daughter's best interests and get her out of that house and away from those creeps.

As the father, the courts are obligated to recognize you as the first person for the mother to leave in care of your child. If she feels she needs to keep it a secret, then she must know that she's wrong for even thinking of leaving that innocent baby with a convicted felon. Stay on top of this one!! We hear about tragedies in the news that start out like this too often!!

This same thing happened to me except I was the child:

Get your daughter out of there. I was beaten and got to intensive care... when my mother finally came home.

GET HER OUT OF THERE.

I wouldn't let my daughter anywhere near a convicted felon, especially one I don't personally know. I applaud you for taking action and putting your daughter's welfare first, as it should be.

just call the mom and say you know that she will be out of town and that you would prefer to keep your daugther until she gets back. do you have visitation rights? if so, what's the problem?
