The baby will likely ingest trace amounts of whatever your daughter receives. I wouldn't lose any sleep about this (no pun intended). Pregnant women have received anesthetics for decades and there is no documentation of any teratogenesis (birth defects). Nursing mothers receive anesthesia thousands of times every year (every post-partum tubal) and there aren't any reports of adverse effects to infants; it would be all over the news if there were incidents. The best thing for the baby is a safe and comfortable mom. If you take good care of the mom, she'll take care of the baby. Good Luck.

The local anesthesia (shot) that a dentist uses is unlikely to cause any side effects for the baby. But, due to how crappy she is more than likely gonna feel, she may be better off pumping breastmilk and giving the baby a bottle for a day or two. If the dentist is planning on putting her under general anesthesia (sleep), then she needs to talk to the dentist to find out what is safe for a nursing mother. Hope she gets to feeling better.

All I had became a collection of photographs of lidocaine (resembling novocaine). They numbed the section with a topical gel in the previous the injections. i became conscious for the technique and that i felt no soreness. In all honesty, the photographs don't sense so great. it is a somewhat painful pinching feeling. I in simple terms saved my eyes closed. The shot became the only soreness I felt the full time. As a newborn, I had 4 molars pulled and that they knocked me out thoroughly. I went to a dental college for my expertise the teeth extraction. they did not furnish wide-unfold anesthesia. My previous dentist (a private prepare) did. It relies upon on the place you bypass and what you're prepared to pay for.

There are some things she absolutely can't take if she's nursing because it will pass to the baby. The best thing she can do is ask her doctor which medications might be safe. She can ask her dental surgeon, too, but it's always good to have two opinions.

I haven't ever had a baby but I have had my wisdom teeth taken out (all 4)...since my parents wouldnt pay for me to get put under with general Anesthesia, i had to use a local (just drugs to relax me) at first i was terrified but it actually wasn't that bad, i just took 3 lorazepam (a relaxer)which i already take for panic attacks so i know its safe. it really wasn't bad, i fell asleep during the procedure, i thought it would be a lot worse. so if you are scared for her to get completley put under, just ask the dentist /doctor for a common relaxer while she gets it done.

I was going to answer this question, but I don't think I need to because nowayjose gave you a great answer. He sounds like he is an anesthesiologist just like myself.
