First a big hug filled with all the love in your heart. Second forgiveness for all the wrongs he has committed against society. Third, flowers or flowers are a nice thing to get after being in a concrete garden. Baked yummies are also nice.

he's been away awhile, i'm sure you missed each other. try to arrange a time for you two to catch up, lunch, movie out or movie in . you could very well discover the best gift you could give him is a listening ear. i'm sure it would be nice for him to discuss "where he's going from here" with you, and he might just like to talk about what is was like, and he never wants to experience it again.

A nice memory to cherish for ever.
He made mistakes, paid for them and probably missed you and will be really grateful for what you do for him when you see him again.
A movie, a walk, dinner a gift, anything as long as is with love will do.
Good luck.

a home cooked meal.

rewards (like gifts) come from making good choices in life. i would not buy anyone a gift because they just got out of jail.

you love, support and appreciation that he is well and made it through his just reward is all he needs.
