Iron Maiden. Ya know why? They have some of the greatest live shows known to man, awesome guitar riffs, steve harris' gallop for the bass sets an awesome beat, bruce dickinson's screaming vocals are very legendary, a three guitar lineup (which is unbelievable), 14 studio albums which have all been in the top 10 in britain and europe, the most insane mascot you have ever seen EDDIE, and theres a lot more, i just can't think. Its like 10:30 over here.

Oh my, that's no longer common. Hmm...i visit could bypass with 'The Human Equation' by Ayreon. each little thing approximately this album became ideal. Arjen could no longer have picked extra beneficial visitors to accomplish on the album. the assumption itself became magnificent. It explores the interior of human memory, and uncovers an grownup's problematical previous. The lyrics itself have been converted into communicate and sung by the various maximum versatile vocalists of our time. The songwriting is ideal, and each emotion meant to be portrayed has been displayed completely to listeners. to no longer point out the organic variety of this album. each little thing from Devin Townsend's screeching in the final minutes of 'Day sixteen: Loser' to the gentle humming of Heather Findlay in 'Day 11: soreness'. Holy crap, this makes me p.c. to bypass pay attention to the album ideal now. that's a masterpiece. Many runners-up have been additionally considered such as: 'Paradise misplaced' by Symphony X 'Wintersun' by Wintersun and 'The metallic Opera Pt. I' by Avantasia.

I cannot name just one metal band as the best; however, I will give you my reasonings on why a few bands should be near the top of people's lists.

Black Sabbath- Actually, nothing else needs to be said. While many people credit Led Zeppelin with starting the Heavy Metal genre, Metal music has more grown out of the riffs and vocals of Mssrs. Iommi and Osbourne.

Judas Priest- With the screaming vocals, and twin leads, These Brits also helped to shape the sound of modern heavy metal. Theyw ere one of (if not the first) to use harmony leads and they were also among the first (if not THE first) to have the leather and studs outfits on stage. It all came out of Priest.

Iron Maiden- While these boys did not too much original when it came to guitar work, looks, or stage show, they did give heavy metal a chance to be something besides doom and gloom, and gave metal songs intelligence.

Megadeth- Again, nothing too original with the music or stage show; however, Dave Mustaine gave heavy metal a conscience.

I know many won't agree with me... and theya re welcome to disagree, respectfully. These are just my thoughts.

Black Sabbath. The first real "Heavy Metal" super group (I consider Led Zeppelin to be a modified blues band) is still the best ever.
