20 month old babies need a variety of foods. Fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, protein. Go with fresh foods, not processed, instant, high fat kinds of things. (ex: fresh or frozen peas are better than canned, home made pudding is better than pre-packaged). Don't season food for a baby as you would for yourself. Avoid salting food, salt is an aquired taste and it isn't good for you or your baby. Food should be cut into small enough bites that they aren't a choking hazard (ex: if you give your child a banana, don't cut it into round slices that can too easily block a wind pipe).
