He's giving the gesture of his collegiate fraternity, Omega Psi Phi. It's a sort of greeting/celebratory gesture that they all do to each other or just in general. It's not so secret, and if any male outside of the fraternity were to give this signal, they'd be questioned about the fraternity's history to determine whether they were frat brothers or not.

This is a historically black fraternity and one becomes eligible to join in college, or as a graduate. It has a very strong base in the southern schools, (like Alcorn State, where McNair attended) and in visiting there, you may want to be careful not to emmulate the symbol because you may get beat if you're not a frat brother!

i didnt see him do that monday night.....maybe sunday against carolina..... whatever it is it is basically a superstition he developed for luck, im sure.
