When they are tired. My kids go to sleep around 8

it's hard at that age to get on any kind of routine, however I started getting myself on a routine as soon as possible. My husband would bathe my son around 7:15pm, and afterwards I would nurse him and hopefully have him in bed by 8pm. Then I would go to bed, so that I could have some sleep before his middle of the night feeding. When my son started sleeping thru the night (at about 31/2 months of age), we still had him on the same routine, although the times may have changed a little. He's now 16 months old and still goes to bed between 8 and 8:30pm.

Anytime she is ready to sleep. At 10 weeks, your still developing the routine of day and night- naps- meals - sleep. Babies have varried routines and you will want to try to get her to get into a routine that best suits your family. If baby can sleep later in the am- a later bedtime could be in order. If early wake up is needed because of work schedules- a early bed time is inherited.
Bedtime will also change frequently as your baby settle into a morning and afternoon nap routine- and through out the next two years- as naps become shortened and then eliminated.

10 weeks old? whenever the baby's tired....unless it's 1am. i would say the cut off time should be 10 or 11, as long as you don't have to go to bed early! babies are resilliant, use your schedule as a judgement. but i would try to let the baby fall asleep and wake up as needed at such a young age. babies need a lot of sleep!

I have 4 kids and I started them around 3-4 mos on a regular schedule. You have to consider how when you want them to go to bed when they are older. My first one (now 11) I would put down around 10 or 11pm. As he got older, it was a problem since I had to wake him up earlier for preschool. With the other 3 (ages 3,2,1) I started them around 8-8:30. My 3 yr old is in preschool and I think it makes it easier that she already has a schedule and didn't have to change her bedtime at home at the same time as changing her day routine with school. Also, my kids don't wake up super early, usually around 7am.
My sister-in-law has 4 kids also (ages 7,4,2,1) and she wishes that she had done a schedule for her older 2. She said getting them up at 7am to get ready for school is hard on her considering that they go to bed when they feel like it. And usually they go down around midnight or 1am.
It does take some time (1-2 mos) of consistent bedtime before they will truly start a regular schedule. Also, keep in mind, to do this, you will have to set some sort of schedule in the evening so that they aren't waking up at 6pm from a nap, then you want them to go back to bed around 8 or 9. Be patient and feel free to email me if you want to.

10 week old babies are on their own schedule. Feeding and sleeping should be on demand for the first 4 months.
I always tell new moms to sleep when the baby sleeps, that way you get plenty of rest.
Good luck!

i put my 10 week old to bed around 11 oclock because that when me and my three yr old go to bed. and i feed her right before, she sleeps normally until 9 the next morning. i hope this helps. it also helps if you let her cry a little before it wares her out , then she is totaly ready for bed

At a reasonable hour. You need to keep your baby on a schedule that you don't mind them waking up and you eventually will have to wake up to. My daughter will go to bed like around 10, eleven the latest. But I hope you are not serious.

Gee wiz... RIGHT NOW!

Ten weeks is a very long time to keep a bew born baby awake.

...and after this you ought to follow the rule that an infant (birth to twelve months) needs 12 to 16 hours of sleep each day. You can divide up the hours however you like.

10 weeks old is a little young to enforce a bed time. When the baby is sleepy, let it sleep. Get some sleep yourself, I know that you need it!

At the risk of sounding like a smart@ss--put her to bed when she's tired. :) If you're trying to get her on a sleep schedule, and you put her to bed when it's convenient for you, yet she's not tired--she's just going to lie there and cry and fuss until she gets herself worked up into a hysterical mess. You're her mom--look for signs of tiredness, and put her to bed when you see that's she's getting drowsy.
