It isn't romantic, but 36 years later I still love telling the story. My husband and I met in 1970...I was just shy of my 15th birthday and he was 18. My girlfriend and I were at the skating rink with our church group and wanted a soda. I only had 11 cents and she had no money. My husband had been invited to come skating by one of the boy in the youth group and that is why he was there...anyway..I went to all my friends and no one had any money. I looked at my husband and thought...why not. I went up to him and said I will give you 11cent for a quarter because my girlfriend and I are thirsty and want a soda and none of our friends have any money...he said ok. I went to the snack bar and realized I had to get my penny back for tax. I went back to him and said I need my penny back and he just smiled and dug into his pocket. Now after 33 years of marriage I keep telling I'm still getting money from him. He is my bestiest friend and the most wonderful husband, father and grandfather to all of his family!

I was a barmaid in a bar just across my street... i had the morning shift so it was basically all construction workers coming in morning for coffee, i was there for 2 years and basically it was all the regulars... so one day comes this guy i noticed him right away because he was new, so he walks in, looks at me, looks away and then does a double take... so i just smiled... so he got a coffee and left... anyhow he came back that day 3 times for a coffee, after the third time i knew he wanted to talk to me, i gave him a bit of the run around for about a month, it was funny... so one day he just came out and said it, wanna have dinner with me? i accepted and we have been together ever since... 3 years... we have a son together... sometimes when i get mad at him, i tell him, but your coffee you couldn't have gone to get it at the bar across the street? lol we laugh

we met twice actually. three years apart. first time I was at dinner with my boyfriend, and some friends, he walked in and said hi to everyone. Second time,3 years later, I was with another boyfriend , and same thing , in he comes again. So we met twice. we where friends for 10 years before we started having sex. and married 4 months later.Sometimes , the perfect person for you is right there in front of your face the whole time, and you don't even realize it.

Since jim darwin took my story all I can say is.....

As the light changed from red to green to yellow and back to red again,
I sat there thinking about life. Was it nothing more than a bunch of
honking and yelling? Sometimes it seemed that way.

This isn't how I met my current boyfriend, but one of the guys I dated much earlier. We were both in band at different schools (an hour away) and I was on the school bus waiting to warm up as we were both marching in our school's marching bands for a parade. He was standing outside of the window and my friend and I kept bothering him by knocking on his hat and pulling his plume. He eventually caught my friend and I doing this and he gave me his phone number. We dated on and off for a few years and now we're just friends.

I didn't know who he was for a while . he was a secret admirer. I'd go to a place and he saw me and so he came back again and started sending me roses to my table. I ask from whom and the waitress said he doesn't want you to know yet. I guess he asked my friends where i lived and I got roses sent to my dorm at college then notes left on my car. and then eventually he came up to me one day with a card and inside taped to it was a gold necklace and 2 charmes I told him i couldn't accept this as i knew nothing of this man. and my friends all thought i was mean and broke his heart to decline him so they said at least except the movie he wants to take you to. So i said yes to a movie and then from there on he kept calling me and we got to know the other better. and thats how i met my ex husband lool.

He wasnt at all what he seemed to be but thats another story

sort of crazy actually, i was online chatting with a friend one eveningand he instant messaged me trying to find a friend he was looking for. i felt ..just drawn to him for some reason and i agreed to chat with him even though i wasnt the person he was looking for. Then after talking for several months he drove 4 states away just to take me to dinner..... we have been together ever since.
