I thought your question was funny when I first read it! My daughter just turned 6 months old and about a month and a half ago, I was constantly complaining to my husband that my arms always hurt, they felt like my muscles were being ripped to shreds. He's into lifting weights and told me that I my muscles are getting worked out but never getting a chance to recuperate and therefor they hurt. I don't know what I did but they haven't hurt in the last few weeks. I thought I was a weakling and never said anything to anyone so I am glad to see that I am not alone. Thanks for a question that I can totally relate to!!

I have a bad back so I can relate - just make sure when you are holding your baby you lift with your legs and try and sit and hold the baby - less strain on any muscles.

Do you let your baby have tummy time and lay on the floor or in crib or playpen to just play? I love holding my daughter but I can't as often as I'd like due to my back so having a safe place to lay her is key - especially now thats she's 17+ lbs :).

Also - if you've pulled a muscle and its actually hurting worse then sore - you may be agrrevating it by continuing to hold him/her - so if you did pull a muscle you need to treat that first - ice/heat/rest/stretching.

:)

Have you tried the HipHamock by Playtex? It saves your arms for using to do other things... like relax! It works well it's just a little tough at first until the baby gets really stable. Otherwise my baby LOVES her Bumbo seat, and you can put it anywhere including the table, kitchen counter, floor, couch, etc. That way she'll always be close, but you won't have to hold her.

Only when they start walking then its your lower back from stooping over. Try using a sling instead of the big baby carriers
