Does anyone know the location of the before the catalytic converter oxygen sensor for the 2001 Mitsubishi Galant?

When looking at the car facing the windshield, is it above or below the engine? Is it to the right (driver's side) or left (passenger side) of the engine?

Just follow your exhaust piping before the the cat. You should see it popping out of the side of your downpipe.

Look just after the exhaust manifold where it collects into one pipe. You can look for the protrusion or the two wires connected to it. There is a good chance you will be able to see it from the top of the engine. Good luck!

it is quite hassle-free. the substantial section is which you purchase a high quality replace. they don't seem to be commonly difficult to get to in this sort. discover it, disconnect the electrical powered plug, and with the two a 7/8" field wrench, or a socket designed for this element (purchase on the affordable areas save for < $25.00) eliminate the previous unit,. upload a conservative volume of anti-grab to the threads of the recent sender, and thread it into the hollow. while it runs out of thread, use the gadget to preserve it, yet do not OVERtighten it, as harm can result. Reconnect the electrical powered plug and it is finished. All this is left is to alter the different one, at the back of the Catalytic converter. good success
