You're right that democracy is flawed, but all forms of government are flawed. There is no perfection on planet earth (besides love).
Islam is not a solution because it is a religion, open to interpretation and abuse (hence, terrorism), not a form of government.
Islam (as well as all religion) is also not a solution because it is faith-based rather than logic-based. No one can challenge a government based on faith. However, you can challenge your government if it is democratic.
Also, on a personal note, I like women to have equal rights to men. I have a little daughter and I want her to be free in this world.

I would have to say that democracy is highly flawed, and that there are better forms of government out there. A government is mainly to unify and protect its citizens, but that doesn't happen in democracy, where you are either Republican or Democrat, etc. In fact democracy tends to divide the whole nation by separting people through political parties. Communism, totalitarianism, tend to be a little bit better, so long as the person ruling is capable and uncorrupt. I am doubtful that a nation is best ruled under religion, not everyone shares the same beliefs, and because of that there will be dissent. Especially since Islam is not that flexible.

Yes, Democracy sucks if you represent a philosophy that has no chance of achieving power because only a lunatic fringe would vote for it. People everywhere really want to be brainwashed so that they are incapable of having or expressing real opinions. I'm sure that the Armenians, Kurds and Sudanese in Darfur will attest to the wonderful human rights provided by Islam. In a democracy, we are free to express our opinions, scrutinize ideas and to challenge authority. Are you saying that democracy is no good because Islam cannot survive scrutiny? In the full light of day, the flaws and contradictions in Islamic government will be exposed and Democracy will triumph. And yes, in a democracy you are free to seek God in your own way (even if wrong), provided that you don't use or threaten violence. My friend, you are on the wrong side of history.

"actual" democracy could in simple terms be mob rule, and could in actuality be anarchy. If we had a vote and all desperate you should positioned on a crimson tutu and answer to the call of "Suzy-boots", that's what could take place. this is why the Founders settled on a Democratic Republic, on the grounds that that kind will supply you (and one yet somebody else citizen) secure practices from the "democratic needs" of the team. In a democratic republic, you have person recourse against the "prosperous elite", all you should do is discover capitalism to get a seat on the table. If I (as a touch poorly-knowledgeable immigrant) can gain the point of fulfillment I extremely have interior the US in under 2 many years, then the only reason you have not (assuming you have not) is on the grounds which you have not tried. As Sir Winston Churchill (buyer Saint of excellent cigars & brandy) is claimed to have stated; "Capitalism is a poor gadget, in spite of if it is extra perfect than each and every of the others obtainable."

Exactly how does "Convert to Islam or die" fit with your statement "Islam contains best human rights and prevents abuse of power." Most Islamic countries are dictatorships. Thats freedom?
