yes contact the immigration dept of their state. here in the state of georgia they will literally walk applicants through the process...you request paperwork, they send it you fill it out and send it back they send you the next set and so on....if he cares about your friend then he will become legal so that he can get better jobs and better pay and not use and abuse others that are here paying taxes. its called being a good citizen and caring about more than just yourself. immigration is not deporting illegals unless they are into illegal activities etc. they do not want to break up families and it is not their goal to run every illegal out of the country....there goal is to make this a safer nation and to add the illegals...legally to our country. i know this because my sister works for the immigration office so when an illegal tells you they are afraid of being deported, arrested etc. they are either misinformed or lying.

My niece and another member of our family married a mexican and both husbands are good husbands and fathers.
Some wondered at first but it was the best thing either of them did. It will take time to get legal but just keep trying and go through legal channels. They are kind and hard working and loyal to their wives.

Didn't he need papers for the ceremony?
I can't see her life being easier, I just hope she's sure this is not just a ploy on his part.
She should talk to an immigration lawyer, Congress is discussing new tougher laws so they both need to get sorted otherwise she could find herself south of the Rio Grande...
