divisions?

when people say division 1 2 3 or 4, what does that mean, is it the bigger the number the harder and better? im trying to apply for tennis schools

The Divisions are based on the number of programs the school offers. To be Division one you have to have 24 sports teams. Division 2 less . There is no division 4 it is 1,2 and 3. Division one schools are usually the best , they are the biggest.

Division 1 is the biggest and best schools. Division 4 is smaller, less competitive.
