It's not horrible, but unless your doctor suggested some medical reason (which there really isn't any) baby's cannot digest more comlpex forms of food til at least 4 months and even that is a bit early. Your baby will only be thing young once, no need to rush.
I do know some docs suggest baby cereal a bit earlier if the baby has reflux, but not real baby food, just cereal.

Absolutely not. Babies are not all the same. My mom was the first one to "push" food on my kid - and she was right. He was hungry, that is why he was fussy and colicky all the time. But she sat him up on a kitchen counter, fed him an orange, and you would have thought he was a rabid dog how he reacted - he was frantic and sooo happy! Some kids just need all those different flavours! So, there's nothing wrong with giving jarred baby foods, and even slowly introducing stuff like mashed potatoes and smashed banana. My baby's favorites in jars were sweet potatoes and blueberries. He ended up skipping the junior foods because at six months he was totally on people food. At four months, I put him on homo milk as well - that solved the digestive problems he was having with various formulas.

my baby started eating squash (not babyfood) around that age. She still eats squash...and she's alive and well at 2 and a half. My midwife gave me a good rule to follow about this, introduce new foods one at a time and give baby what baby can eat. Like if your baby can eat something without you having to put it through a food processor its probably okay. And, avoid noodles, I know someone whose 9 month old got one in her nose. Good luck. And remember you are the only expert on your baby.

No it is not wrong...you are mom...just don't over do it and if they don't want it or choke a bit...hold off. Be careful what you start them on though. I started my daughter (who is now 11 and is just fine) on a little bit of rice cereal mixed with mostly formula when she was very hungry and my breast milk was no longer enough...I think it was right around 3 or 4 months.

Yes. The AAP suggests NOTHING but breastmilk or formula until 6 mos of age. A 3 mos old can't digest it yet. Starting too early increases your child's chances of diabetes, allergies and obesity.

No, I don't think it is. Some babies just don't get enough from formula or breast milk.
I gave both of my boys baby cereal mixed very thin with their formula when they were about 4 weeks old for their last feeding at night. (helped them sleep all night!!)
My daughter-in-law starting giving my granddaughter cereal when she was about 6 weeks. She just turned 2 and she is fine! She has a great eating habits.

Just keep your baby on formula/breastmilk. If you want whats best for your baby, you will wait until he/she is older for baby food.

depends if the baby is ready for it.if the baby is not satisfied with milk alone and is still hungry now might be the time to start weaning.but be sure it is the baby needing it not your anxiety to start it .babies can live on milk alone until about 6months

its not wrong, as long as its soft and healthy for a baby
like apple sauce, cereals, maybe mashed up veggies or something. Remember their little digestive system has to learn to adjust and it needs gentler food.
