You know what I got my period when I was 11. EVER since then my periods have been SO bad that I missed 3 days of schjool every single month I stayed home, didnt eat for 3 days, couldnt sleep, puked ALL the time with nothing coming up, couldnt lay down I had to sleep in an upright chair, went to doctor after doctor even MILES away. FINALLY when I turned 18 I went to this new doctor in town and he found out I had Endometriosis. WHich is something that grows I think on your overies I can't even remember, but I had a MONOR surgery for it and it got better. I'm now 21 and I think it has came back so I have to have it again. BUT the point is you might have it too but I couldnt do anythign I missed work all the time I missed school I got into trouble even with doctor excuses it was so bad but I took IB 2 days b4 my period and wor the Therma Care patches (Which are now my best friend) b/c you can move with them on and all. ALSO your GYN can give you some prescription pills that might help EVERYONES DIFFERENT LOL

I've heard that birth control pills are just the thing for these! My mom is planning a visit with a gyno soon to see about them. Five minutes of embarressment for hours of lowered cramps and dozens of saved undergarments? Sign me up!

Until then, though, I just use Thermacare. They are really great! They are odorless, cordless, and just stick on the inside of your underwear. They make things much much more tolerable! Hot baths, heating pads, and other forms of direct heat are also great. I highly advise you to invest in a good, small heating pad. Great for at home! A dose of asprin, nanoproxen, or another general pain reliever is good, too.

You can't say that they don't work because you can't remember the pain as much! There will still be some pain, but it won't be the same "go outside and scream for mommy" type of pain. Trust me, I've had quite a few of those.

Cramps are part of being a woman, sweetie. Sad, but true.

I take a really long hot bath and just lay for a while. Drink lots of water because you can get bloated when you are on your period and all the pills in the world wont help with that. Making sure you drink a lot of water will help your get rid of all the water its retaining. Avoid salt and caffeine as these can cause you to retain more water and worsen your cramps. Try and lay with your feet elevated so that the blood in your body can circulate better. Heating pads can help if taken with advil or tylenol. I find advil works better because it has a diaretic in it which helps with the fluid retention. I know it sucks and I get horrible cramps too but welcom to the life of being a girl.

Thermacare makes thin, disposable stick on heating "pads" that attach to the inside of your underwear and they're awesome. I have had some killer cramps, and these are the only things that take away the pain. Aside from that, they say that exercise can help eleviate cramps, but I'm usually in too much pain to try it.

I don't really know. Tylenol, I guess.

Personally,
I try to trick my mind into making the pain go away. It's something I saw on Discovery Channel. You convince yourself that the part of you that's in pain is in ice water and you can't feel a thing. It totally works for me.
