2006 Yamaha R6 lap timer?

Question

Can anyone tell me how to use the lap timer on a 2006 Yamaha R6? My owner's manual has gone missing and my dealer is closed today. Thanks much!

Play around with the buttons on the gauge to get it in timer mode. I forget the sequence. While the bike is running, tap the starter button to start the timer. Tap it again to stop it. You'll here the starter motor spin. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt the starter or the engine at all.
