a car starts at rest and accelerates at a rate of 4 m/s/s. For 8 s. How far will it be from it's starting point?

xfinal = xinitial + vinitial*t + [1/2]*a*t^2
since v initial is zero and x initial is zero
you have
x = 0.5a*t^2
x= 0.5*4*64
x= 128m

distance= (1/2)(acceleration)(time)^2
