He's deriding you; beyond that, the meaning shouldn't matter.
If you support him, stop, no pocket money, no rides, no cooking no washing his clothes, no ironing...Make him get a job and support himself. When he learns that money is power and sees his friends losing interest in him, 'cause he doesn't have enough to join them or doesn't have the time if he gets a lot of hours to make up for what you take away, he'll learn who's boss in a 17 year old's life and learn to respect you. I wouldn't give a disrespectful 17 year old more than a roof over his head and raw rice, veggies and beans. He should even be cooking his own meals for that disrespect.

It means your son is hanging out with the wrong people and has been really influenced by them, you have to keep a close watch on his activities he's clearly heading for some serious trouble.

I love how people address the question that you did not ask. You did not ask... how is my parenting? And even if you did, I hope every time my teenage boy challenged me with a cutting remark, it did not mean that I was worthless as a parent. Yes, we need to work at setting boundaries and establish what is acceptable and not acceptable.
We do not really have enuf info her to say that he disrespects you. Ask him what he meant by it.

it means you are what gang members refer to as a 'mark' or a 'marked-man'. in this case i'm sure HE doesnt know what it means, truly, but it means you are something worthless to him.. a marked man who isn't worth much more than a 25 cent shell. if he is youner than you, i suggest you wash out his mouth with liquid soap.
